Supporting families through loss

We understand the profound impact of homicide loss. We're here to offer a hand, a listening ear, and practical guidance. Our compassionate approach focuses on healing, justice, and building a community where families can find strength together.

Your questions, our answers

We believe in clear communication and transparent support. Here, you'll find answers to the most common questions we hear, detailing our services, who we help, and what you can expect when you connect with us. Our goal is to empower families navigating the aftermath of homicide with the resources and understanding they deserve.

What kind of support and activities do you offer to families?

🤍 Peer support circles
May include, safe, confidential virtual gatherings  (if enough interest/participation) where families can: share their story at their own pace, listen without judgment, learn coping tools, and build community with others who truly understand homicide loss. These circles are not therapy, they are shared strength.

🕊 Court & advocacy guidance

We help families: understand the court process, connect with victim advocates, prepare emotionally for hearings, learn their rights, and navigate victim compensation resources. You don’t have to face the justice system alone.

🌿 Healing workshops & resource navigation

Workshops may include: understanding trauma after violent loss, coping with anniversaries and triggers, grief education, self-care without guilt, and supporting surviving children. We also help families connect to licensed therapists and local services in San Bernardino County and the High Desert.

🕯 Remembrance

Activities that honor loved ones: candlelight vigils, annual remembrance gatherings. Because healing also includes honoring.

**Activities are dependent on interest and participation.

First Step

The very first step is simple: reach out. Send a message through the contact form, email directly at [[email]], or join an upcoming support circle. No pressure. No expectations. Just a conversation. From there, we walk at your pace.

Who is our support specifically for?

Our support is for: parents who have lost a child to homicide, children and siblings grieving a murdered loved one, spouses and partners, extended family members deeply impacted by the loss, families navigating the court process in San Bernardino County and the High Desert, and anyone whose life was forever changed by homicide. If you have lost someone to violence, you belong here.

This space is especially for families who feel:

Overwhelmed by the justice system, isolated in their grief, angry, confused, or numb, misunderstood by those who haven’t experienced this type of loss.

What can a family expect when they connect with us for the first time?

🤍 Compassion first: You will be met with empathy, not judgment. There is no “right way” to grieve here.

🤍 You set the pace:

You share what you’re comfortable sharing. Nothing more.

🤍 Practical guidance:

If you’re navigating court, compensation, or therapy, we’ll help you understand your options step-by-step.

🤍 Emotional safety:

Confidentiality and respect are foundational. Your story is yours.

🤍 No pressure to be “strong”:

You don’t have to hold it together here. You don’t have to protect anyone else’s feelings. You can simply be.
